LG ACC98WK Universal Wireless Home Speaker System CustomerReview

I recently set up a 5.1 system after reading all the pro’s and cons of 6.1 & 7.1 imaging, I still have an extra Mirage speaker sitting around and I may expand to a 7.1 in the future.

See my review on Mirage Nanosat 5.1.

Very little attention is given to wireless set ups as there is still some drawbacks but for those who find the right equipment I believe the benefits greatly outweigh the small drawbacks such as interference and ms delay which is negligible with the right equipment.

First I hope Amazon allows this link, it is to a site FeedAgg dot com where they review all the worthy options for wireless set up to your home theater rear speakers.

See the review on my favorite LG ACC97WK which I researched about a year ago elsewhere and called LG to consult on it’s features. It is crazy why LG stopped marketing it as a standalone option. It is the only wireless system that allows for 100′ feet transmission range, has frequency hopping spread sprectrum technology @ 2.4GHZ, can support up to 100W @ 4 ohms -btw don’t worry about it LG said it handles 8 ohms as well when i spoke to thier engineer.

Those are spec’s you have to use it to beleive it, I can not rave enough about it, my rear speakers have no losses or delays i can notice, 8 ms is what the unit says but when I ran the Audyssey set up from my Onkyo 706 there was no compensation whatsoever from the receiver, it gave the same output to the rear speakers as the front. You should know that while LG still sells it with their high end speakers you can only find a few on the web still.

I bought mine months ahead of the rest of my system fearing I would not be able to find one. Some stores on the web now have the newest updated unit (darker bluish color) with the same specs as the older silver unit which I have and featured here.

I am going to buy another as a reserve and factoring a possible 7.1 system later and because it hops frequencies constantly I have no doubt 2 in a room won’t be a problem. Here is testament to it’s stability I have heard never heard popping sounds from the rear speakers, I have a wireless home network with an XBox 360 connected to Live and streaming Netflix movies, my laptop also connected. It’s also next to the kitchen and the microwave or other appliances have never caused any interruptions whatsoever.
