I have owned the UV10 for over a month and have every option installed. It is the best value out there for a GPS/Stereo/Bluetooth unit. The GPS add on is just excellent. There is no problem listening and navigating at the same time. Furthermore, it has 2 USB ports. I ran an extention to the one on the back into my ashtray where I keep a memory stick permanently plugged in. You can play all your music and movies off a USB stick. Sweet! Sound qulaity is pretty good. Added a powered sub and suddenly feel 16 again. The only thing I do NOT like about it is the wallpapers and buttons are pretty plain. I think it is set up this way for night driving… but it is boring. Also, the buttons on the touch screen are too small. My big fat fingers have trouble scrolling through the MP# songs. With that said… I still say this unit is a steal. It lets you buy a nice head unit and add on with time. I am pleased with the quality and the sound. I also REALLY like the NAV102 and bluetooth. It has every bit the sound and quality of my wifes Pioneer for a lot less dough.

I’ve had this receiver for 6 months, and am generally pleased.
Pluses:
* Bluetooth is great, good sound quality, easy to use (except for dial out)
* Love having access to USB, SD, aux, iPod, and mp3 CD’s
* Remembers track and position on poweroff – essential for audio cd’s
Minuses:
* It stopped playing cd’s in the first hour of operation. Factory repaired it free, but 3 week turnaround
* Slow startup for digital media, as it takes 10-20 seconds to read the entire file system before beginning playback.
* Navigation for large mp3 media is awkward – all you can do is forward and back through the directories in the order they’re written on the media, so if you’re on an artist, you have to go thru all their albums before going to the next artist.
* Random and Repeat modes are mutually exclusive, and display shows stuff like “Random 019″ instead of song title when in random or repeat mode. (Front panel button momentarily shows title)
* Bluetooth dialing is awkward. Don’t even think about dialing from rcvr while driving, although you can originate calls from your bluetooth cell phone speed dial.
* Limited playback options – No genre play, or playlists, just select a directory and it’ll play everything under that directory.

Overall, a good product. Just wish navigation and screen display had been done better.
Watch out for similar products that don’t remember track and position. This is the best
I found after extensive searching for bluetooth, mp3 cd, and sd capability.

I was a little apprehensive to buy one of these because of the low price and the myriad of features that it performed. But I went ahead and bought one. I bought a 3 yr warranty from squaretrade just in case it broke. I was especially concerned with the motorized screen which slides down when you need to insert or remove a DVD,CD, or SD card. Once the package actually arrived the unit felt very nice and seemed to be built solidly. I installed this myself in my Lexus. It has 5 preamp RCA outputs which includes a subwoofer output. It also has 2 RCA video outs and 1 RCA video input for a backup camera. It also comes with a remote (feels a little cheap but works adequately). I was a little diappointed with the front AUX input as it is smaller than a standard headphone jack and you have to use a nonstandard cable (they provide 1 cable for audio only and 1 for video/audio). If your looking for Bluetoooth, Navigation, or Satellite ready, look elsewhwere.

Pros:
Lots of features. It also seems to have excellent laser quality as it plays many of my CD’s which are so scratched up they will not play in any other player I own. You can play music (not video) from an SD card. In fact if you have pictures on an SD card you can play them in a slideshow. DVD playback works as it should and it has an auto resume feature so even once you shut off the car it will return to the point in the movie you were at. The unit sounds good with no hum or high pitch whine linked to engine rpm like you experience with some units. The motorized screen works well and feels solid and strong. The radio receiver seems to pick up more stations than my factory radio did.

Cons:
I wish it had some visualizations while you were listening to music. For instance even a bouncing EQ or ANY animation. Instead while listening to CD’s it does have a graphic, but nothing more. It seems a shame to waste that beautiful 7″ screen. Several of the features can only be accessed via the remote. This could be a problem if you lose it or break it. Included instructions were lacking, however most people should be able to use it without any instructions needed. It only supports regular SD cards, so no 4GB or larger cards will work. It simply says SD card error if you try. The screen does seem to get washed out when the sunlight hits it directly. (however pretty much ALL LCD screens do this).

UPDATE:
I’ve had this unit for around six months now with zero problems.

I have researched car stereos that can play from USB sticks and from SD cards (There are not too many of them out there) – Phase is one of them. I was bit suspicious about the low price, and the fact that it is not a well known brand (yet) – but I bought it anyway. It was truly a great buy. I have installed it myself (into my Subaru) and the radio plays like a champ. It has a clear sound, excellent radio reception, and it plays virtually from any usb stick you can find home – I tried ancient 64MB stick as well as 8GB stick and both got played perfect.
The player has super-easy navigation (I didn’t have to read a manual at all). I heard that people are complaining about too bright display – yes during a night it is bit brighter but nothing a little tape over the display can’t handle (if you care).

If you are like me – love to listen a books on tapes (Sorry, on USB sticks or like to have your entire music collection in your pocket this car stereo is a must.
