I received this mouse as a gift and to be honest didn’t think I needed it. I already owned several logitech wireless mice. I’m so glad that I tried it before setting it aside, though, since it is actually an incredible piece of tech. First off, the 2.4 GHz transmission means it’s range is remarkable. I tested it up to about 30 feet and it was perfect. The nano receiver can either be left in the computer (it’s tiny) or stored *inside* the mouse. Third, it’s very compact and easy to use in a tight space. All these combine to make it perfect for travel, since I can use it on a plane and even present to clients using it when I’m not sitting next to my laptop (say it’s hooked up to a projector across the room).

On top of all this, it only uses one battery (my Logitech uses two) which makes carrying a spare easier. But in fact it also has an LED to warn me of impending battery failure, so a spare isn’t even necessary.

Don’t get me wrong, I still like my Logitech, but the V7 is now my #1 wireless mouse, especially when I’m on the road. Turned out to be quite a gift after all.
